The provisions of Articles 1 and 2 of Order No. 3362 of 30 June 1954 determining the procedures for implementing the legal provisions concerning company, medical or health services shall apply to this
Decree. (DECREE NO. 64-123-CAB-COP OF 4 JULY 1964)
Companies or establishments in the territory of East Cameroon shall be;
(a) First category: 1,000 workers and above.
(b) Second category: 500 to 999 workers.
(c) Third category: 100 to 499 workers.
(d) Fourth category: 20 to 99 workers. At least the following is provided for:
(a) In establishments in the first category the permanent staff of a
- Doctor
- Two nurses
- One additional nurse for every 500 workers above 1,500.
(b) In establishments in the second category, the permanent or periodically:
- A Doctor;
- Permanent service:
- One nurse;
- An additional nurse in establishments with more than six hundred
workers;
(c) In establishments in the third category:
-The permanent or periodic assistance of a medical practitioner
- The regular service of a nurse.
(d) In establishments of the fourth category:
-The periodic assistance of a doctor and a nurse
Establishments that provide accommodation for workers’ families are required to provide at least one additional nurse for each additional the quota of 50 persons.
Establishments employing fewer than 100 workers, but provide accommodation for families is assimilated to the third category if the total number of workers and members of their families is at least 150 persons.
For establishments with fewer than 1,000 workers, the periodic the assistance of the doctor is assessed based on a minimum service time of 1 hour per month.
For establishments in the fourth category, the periodic assistance of the nurse is assessed based on one hour per month for every 10 employees.
