Pilot training course
The Aeronautical Authority issues certificates and training specifications for two levels of approved training organisations that provide pilot flight training courses:
– A level 1 certificate of approval for the organisation that conducts the majority of its flight training courses using a real aircraft.
– A level 2 certificate of approval for an organisation which conducts the majority of its flight training using simulation media approved by the Aviation Authority.
The aeronautical authority may approve on behalf of an applicant for, or holder of, a level 1 certificate of approval the following training courses, if the applicant meets the requirements.
Licence and qualification courses
– Private pilot course
– Commercial pilot course
– Instrument rating course
– Airline pilot course
– Flight instructor course
– Instrument flight instructor course
– Ground instructor course
– Additional qualification course for an aircraft category or class, etc.
Special preparation course
– Pilot refresher course
– Flight instructor refresher course
– Ground instructor refresher course
– Farm aircraft operations course
– External load helicopter operations course etc.
Pilot ground training course
The Aviation Authority may approve on behalf of an applicant for, or holder of, a Level 2 Certificate of Approval if the applicant meets the requirements of any training course for any rating or licence or certificate of professional competence for which the applicant can show an effective training programme and for which the Aviation Authority has qualified the simulation media.
