CONSTITUTION OF GOODS IN THE WAREHOUSE
Are automatically placed on deposit by the customs department:
a) Goods which, on importation, have not been declared in detail within the legal time limit;
b) Goods which remain in customs for any other reason.
Goods placed in customs warehouses are recorded in a special register.
Goods in the customs warehouse remain at the owner’s risk; their deterioration, alteration or loss during storage shall not give rise to any claim for damages, whatever the cause.
Costs of any kind arising from the constitution and stay in the warehouse shall be borne on the goods.
Customs officials may only open and check the contents of parcels in customs warehouse and verify their contents only in the presence of the owner or consignee, or, failing this, a person designated by the competent court under the conditions set out in article 129, paragraph 2 of the law.
