The approval for the operation of a registered security company in Cameroon is dependent on a mixed commission. The composition of the commission for security company approval in Cameroon is headed by the Minister of Territorial Administration as the Chairman. The other members of the commission are as follows:
- A representative of the Presidency of the Republic;
- A representative of the Prime Minister’s office;
- A representative of the Ministry of Territorial Administration;
- A representative of the Ministry of Finance;
- A representative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security;
- A representative of the Ministry of Telecommunications;
- A representative of the Secretary of State for Defense in charge of the National Gendarmerie;
- A representative of the Délégation Générale à la Sûreté nationale;
- A representative of the Direction Générale de la Recherche Extérieure;
- A representative of the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency.
The Commission meets as and when required, and at least once every three months, when convened by its chairman.
Notices of meeting, together with the agenda and other documents to be submitted for the Committee’s consideration, must be sent to members at least fifteen (15) days before the date of the meeting.
The Commission may only validly deliberate if at least two-thirds (2/3) of its members are present.
Opinions and resolutions of the Commission are adopted by a majority of two-thirds (2/3) of the members present.
