They are classified in increasing categories according to the star system from one (1) to five (5).
TWO STAR HOTEL
- Public Premises
Hotel entrance: independent if the operation includes a restaurant, bar or nightclub.
Reception hall: fitted out, lounge available to customers, with a minimum surface area (m2) of:
– For the first ten (10) rooms: 20m2;
– From eleven (11) to one hundred (100) rooms: 0.90m2 in addition to the above surface area;
– From one hundred and one (101) to four hundred (400) rooms: 0.55m2 in addition to the areas provided for in the two (2) headings above; etc.
Entrance hall with the following services:
– Reception-concierge service;
– Luggage room with separate locker;
– Information and message service;
– Single telephone cabin;
– Lift(s) required in accordance with the nature and capacity of the establishment to access the 5th level of the building (4th floor).
– Restaurant;
– Bar-auto-ventilated; etc.
Technical installations: minimum electrical equipment in common areas:
– Corridors and passageways: 5w/m2;
– Common public areas: 10w/m2;
– Minimum emergency lighting: 2w/m2.
Leisure facilities:
– Telephone: one (1) line per thirty (30) rooms.
B. Rooms
minimum capacity:
– Number of rooms: twenty (20).
Minimum ceiling height (metre):
– In the accommodation area: 2.50m;
– In the entrance S.A.S: 2,30m.
Surface area (m2)
– Surface area of the room not including the shower room, the entrance S.A.S and the storage space: 10 m2 for a room with one (1) bed for two (2) people.
Shower room:
– Console washbasin in bedroom with cold water;
– Shower either as a base, or as a shower tray with plug-in shower column, with hot and cold-water mixer;
– Bidet with cold and hot water;
– Tooth glass.
Sanitary – W.C. :
– English-style WC inside the shower room, with low flush and accessories.
Ventilation and air conditioning:
– By individual or semi-individual low-noise unit.
Telephone:
– Private automatic exchange controlled by switchboard.
Security:
– Security lock:
– Identification number on each door.
Electrical installations:
– 15 w/m2 distributed between the bedside and a main source, with to-and-fro control in the bedrooms, and the S.A.S at the bedroom entrance;
– 15 w/m2 from a wall light above the washbasin of a minimum of 75w, possibly supplemented by another source for the shower room;
– One (1) shaver socket in the shower room;
– 5 w/m2 for corridors leading to bedrooms;
– 10 w/m2 for sanitary facilities.
Bedroom layout:
– One (1) bedside table per occupant;
– One (1) single bed with a minimum size of (cm): 80×190;
– One (1) bed for two (2) people with a minimum size of (cm): 160×200;
– Mattress covered with a removable sheet, minimum thickness 0.13m;
– Suitcase rack etc.
Floor covering:
– Good quality insulating material.
Information in rooms
– Room rates and other charges must be clearly displayed in each room, together with a list of the services offered by the hotel; instructions in the event of fire; hotel rules for guests, including meal times and prices.
C. CUSTOMER SERVICES
room service:
– Change of room linen and toiletries every two (2) days, as well as each time a guest leaves;
– Provision of: soap, toilet paper, deodorant in the WC.
